Andy Wall, PhD
About Me:
I approach therapy with the belief that people are always doing the best they can while also having the capacity for growth and meaningful change. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental, validating space where clients feel cared for, understood, and comfortable addressing the challenges they face. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and related concerns, helping them develop more effective ways of responding to difficult thoughts, overwhelming emotions, and behaviors that are keeping them stuck.
My style is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based treatments. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other first-line psychotherapies such as Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. Treatment is tailored to each client's unique concerns, goals, and values while remaining grounded in approaches supported by research. I value working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and approach every client with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect. I strive to help clients build skills they can continue using long after therapy has ended.
Academic and Professional Background:
I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University in 2026. Throughout my training, I provided mental health services in a variety of settings, including college counseling centers, community-based outpatient clinics, and outpatient ambulatory care. Most recently, I completed my doctoral internship at the Columbus VA Medical Center, where I had the privilege of working with Veterans from diverse racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, religious, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
My training has emphasized evidence-based practice while recognizing that every client's experiences, strengths, and circumstances are unique. I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge and clinical skills to provide high-quality care that helps clients make meaningful and lasting improvements in their lives.
As a postdoctoral fellow, I currently practice under the supervision of licensed psychologists Dr. Laren Conklin and Dr. Matthew Free.
