Treatment Process
At Proven Pathways, treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation and a discussion of your goals for therapy and overall mental wellness. We work with you to create specific, measurable goals that will help us clearly determine the progress you are making in therapy. We will make treatment recommendations related to the evidence-based approaches most suited to your needs.
We offer treatments that are based on decades of clinical research. Evidence-based treatments are designed to be skills-focused and time-limited. Often, clients make substantial progress within several months (around 12-16 sessions). Our goal is to help you make steady, meaningful progress while fostering your independence in managing your mental health over time. We aim to help you build lasting skills so you can maintain your progress beyond therapy. Our treatments are often more focused and efficient than traditional open-ended therapy while still moving at a manageable, collaborative pace. We respect that therapy is a focused commitment to both your time and energy and that you would like to feel better as soon as you can. That being said, the duration of care is a collaborative discussion that will take into account your goals, the type of treatment you are engaged in, and how quickly you are progressing in treatment.
During treatment, we will regularly assess your progress on your treatment goals as well as improvements on brief measures selected based on your goals and presenting concerns (e.g., the PHQ-9 for depression). This approach, called Measurement-Based Care, ensures we have multiple ways to track your improvements in treatment, better tailor treatment to your individual needs, and make informed adjustments to enhance the effectiveness of your care. By seeing progress on measurable outcomes, clients often feel better understood, more engaged in treatment, and feel motivated when their efforts in treatment result in clear progress.
